The Crossada is the creation of James Albert Keating. It is a bit of something old and a bit of something new all nicely combined to produce something very unique. The old synergy approach I suppose, you know .... one + one = three, yep that's the formula for things made with spirit and integrity. And the Crossada has those qualities about it, I know because I've purposely included them into the overall Crossada designs! |
This is a Page about Information, sales and use of the James Keating / Comtech designed CROSSADA FIGHTING KNIFE. This is the ONLY place you can get a Crossada today! Made in Arkansas by Tom Krein from D-2 steel . A large, "all business" type of fighting knife. No utilitarian values apply to this knife. It is a large, custom knife for defensive purposes only! On this page you can learn about it's history, design functions, what designs are available and what we have coming up. More about this Keating / Krein Crossada Project can be found by scrolling down this page. |

18" of razor sharp authority. The Crossada has been in enough hands over the last ten years that people KNOW it works like Maajak! Pun intended. |
My family crest is shown beside the Crossada Fighting Knife I desiged. Later after Busse Knives had a go at it, Bob Dozier took to making them for me. |
After Bob Dozier stopped making the Crossada's for me it was Wendell Fox who then began making a few Crossadas. The knives are out there, that's a fact. All with my trademark crossbar stamp ala "Crossada". Big ones and small ones. Below you can see what I mean. The Dozier made Crossada's have a very "tool-like" aspect to them. Even Black Cloud (Ernest Mayer) experimented some with the Crossada design concepts. While not a Crossada proper, Black Cloud's work reflects early attempts at hybridization of my true Crossada "vision" by those who'd seen it in action at various Riddle of Steel over the years. Other knives were later to follow suit, but in their own ways. |
Fox Forge Crossada's have a rustic look, one might call'em "Mountain Crossada's". |
Beautiful they are, jimping, file work and natural wood handles all set off by a most cool leather sheath. |
Here are two from my collection. The top version is quite a bit smaller. The handle especially. It was the first ever made beyond my own personal model. The dark orange handled Crossada is my own. Lighter, faster and sharper than all other Crossada's - It is the fast, un-friendly "death flyer". Imbued with my own brand of "JuJu". Zing ! |
